Project Penshurst 2222 is a New South Wales incorporated association (INC2400373) established in May 2024 by Joe Bianco and Nicky Parras.
Our mission is to improve the safety and enhance the aesthetic appeal of Penshurst, restoring the charm of this historic suburb.
We are NOT aligned with any political party. We lobby and petition our local area council (Georges River Council) for issues that are affecting Penshurst, with a focus on the town centre. In doing so, we seek the help of councillors, and state and federal MPs, to support our petitions, regardless of their political standing.
If you are a Penshurst resident or business, please join us ($5 / year). Your membership will help our community to provide a united voice to direct Georges River Council spending towards our neglected suburb.
Apply for membership using the button at the top of this page.
Membership also gives you a voice in prioritising the committee's objectives. You can read our constitution here.

We celebrated our 2024 successes at our Christmas social event on Saturday, December 7th, and a great time was had by all!
A big thank you to our members and guests for their attendance and generous donations on the evening—the money will really help us keep moving forward through 2025. Also, a special thank you to TJs for hosting us and providing the pizza!
We had a social event on Saturday, August 24th, where we announced our winning of the grant (see August Newsletter) and our other recent successes. Plus the door prize, which was won by David W, who generously donated his winner’s cap to another member.
All in all, it was a great evening of conversation, meeting new people, and, for us, gaining 4 new members and as well as some gratefully received donations–a big thank you!
Our thanks also to all who came along to support us. And a special shout-out to TJ’s Trent, Tahlia, Lucy and Mitch, for the support of venue and catering, and also to Tonino’s David for supplying us with pizzas.
We’ll be planning another social event for the end of year.
Thank you for all who attended this information meeting with Councillors Christina Jamieson and Ashvini Ambihaipahar.
Minutes of this meeting are now available here.
Our thanks for the support of our Councillors and to the members who showed support by speaking at or attending the Georges River Council meetings.
Our committee Chairperson, Nicky Parras, and member Liane Madden, presented in support of — NM067-24 Public Decorative Lighting. It is our belief that decorative "ambient" lighting will provide a safer town center and draw in much needed additional retail business, especially during the upcoming holiday season.
Our Public Officer, Joe Bianco, spoke in support to have the funding for safety barriers at Penshurst St. / Bridge St. included in the 2024/25 Operational Plan budget. Councillor Jamieson confirmed late on Monday that the draft plans have been adopted and safety barriers are included in the budget. See minutes (page 11 ref. CCL043-24)— CCL043-24 Working together for a better future 2022-2026 Delivery program 2024/25 operational plan and updated resourcing strategy.

We believe the required additional funding for the safety guard rail will be provided by the deferral of the Connelly Street Feasibility Study.
